Our Ethos and Curriculum

Our Ethos

Our moto is "Making Learning Fun" and this runs through everything we do at nursery. We believe that child learn best when they are happy.

On a day to day basis children are encourgaed to develop not only their cognitive skills but also their emotional and social skills too, we hope children leave us for big school being happy, confident and independant. We do this through having a wide varierty of toys and activities availble to children at all times, and through promoting learning in adult led activities. We use the children's own interests to build on thier learning.

As well as ABC's and 123's we want children to learn kindness, well being and independance.

Each child is appointed a Key Worker when they start nursery and this member of staff will get to know your child inside out! They will build a relationship with your child and your family and monitor your child's development throughout their time with us.

At Mrs Bond's we believe that parents are the children's main eductators and we do a lot to work in partnership with and support parents. We have termly 'stay and play' sessions for parents, parents evening's annualy and lots of events for parents to come and watch, such as Sports Day, Graduation and a Christmas Nativity. We use an online Learning Journal called "Tapestry" where parents can see photographs, videos and observations of their child daily as well as leave messages for their childs key worker.

Areas of Learning

The EYFS is broken down into 7 areas of development, through free play, activites and children's interests we promote learning and development in all these areas:

  • Physical development
  • Communication and Language
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Maths
  • Literacy
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive Arts and Development

We incourage skills such as independance, confidence and well being through our curriculum and play. Children are encouraged to make their own choices and made to feel respected and part of the Mrs Bonds Family.

All our staff members are experienced and a large portion are qualified at Level 3 or above. This means that we can rely on the knowledge and skills of all our staff team to ensure that children are learning, growing and most importantly happy when they are with us.
